Learning the art of Harmony and Prosperity

There are many topics in Chinese Metaphysics and I am sure no one can master all. This is a space that I dedicate to share my learning and experience on topics related to Feng Shui and Destiny. Please feel free to comment.

Birth Chart of House

With the change of period (8) on 4th Feb 2005, we have noticed many attempts by Feng Shui enthusiasts world-wide to referesh the Qi or energy of their properties (that were constructed in previous periods) by altering the positions of their main entrances, or undertaking massive renovations.

Various schools and practitioners preach different approaches to change the period of a property. Even the way to determine the period of a property has been a hot debating topic. One group of Masters said that the period of construction is the period of the property. Their explanation is that the base Qi is formed when a property is developed and this configuration of Qi will determine the success and failure of the occupants till the property is demolished or reconstructed.

Others argued that the move-in period should be used to determine the period of the property. Their viewpoint is based on the concept of alliance of Heaven, Human, Earth Qi where the Qi of a property is influenced by the alliance of these three cosmic Qi. Let say if we procure a resale apartment, the Human Qi of the previous occupants may be dissipated when they vacate the property. The absence of Human Qi breaks the cosmic trinity of alliance which could be re-established when the new occupants bring in new Human Qi.

In practice, we will normally suggest plotting 2 birth charts of property, one based on the construction period and the other with the move-in period. Observe the symptoms experienced by the occupants to determine which chart is closer to their encounters.

Life Kua Numbers & Flying Stars

When you look at the title of this article, you may ask, what has Life Kua number got to do with Flying star? Hmm..let me share some perspectives on their relationship.

In the Eight Mansion theory, all of us on this planet are broadly classified into the East Group Life (Kua number 1,3,4,9) and West Group life (Kua number, 2,5,6,7,8). If you do not know your Life Kua number, please find out
here. On the other hand, there are nine different stars (1 to 9) in the Flying star theory, and each star shares the same elemental characteristic as the Life Kua number. Eg, Life Kua No 1 and Flying Star 1 White Star represent the element - Water. So what if they are similar? How can we apply them in our analysis?

Firstly, when we plot the the Flying Star chart (Birth chart) for a house/property, we can take note of the mountain and water stars of the centre palace. If a person Life Kua number is 1, and the mountain and water stars of the centre palace are 2 & 5 respectively, then this property may not be suitable for him. Why is that so? Life Kua number 1 is of Water element as mentioned above and Flying stars 2 & 5 are of Earth element. In the elemental destruction cycle, Earth conquers water, therefore making Water very weak. Moreover, the 2-5 Flying Star combination signifies misfortune, sickness and trouble, a Life Kua number 1 person will suffer worse if he was to live in the property.

In addition, we can apply this relationship to the main entrance as it is a crucial point for Feng Shui assessment. If Life Kua number (the element) of a person is being suppressed by the facing Flying star (the element), especially an untimely star, then the house may bring problems to that occupant. One exception as in our example of the Life Kua number 1 person if the main entrance's facing Flying star is 9 (Fire). This is considered auspicious as Water conquering Fire also represents the person is controlling the Wealth & Fame arriving at his main entrance.

Some practitioners go further to use the same approach to determine which rooms in the property is suitable for an individual using the Life Kua number and the room's door facing Flying star. One interesting observation is that using this approach, we may also predict what may happen to a person staying in that room. Eg, a person's Life Kua number is 1 staying in a room where the door's facing is Flying star 4. As 1-4 combination represents academical achievement, we may then predict that the person might do well in examination if he lives in that room.

Of course, we should take a person's favourable and unfavourable elements into consideration for more refined assessment.
